When you’re getting your estimates, ask which method they will be using: Polyurethane or mud jacking (using sand and cement). We use Polyurethane. The differences are huge. A Polyurethane hole is about the size of a dime at 5/8". Mud pumping uses a hole almost three times the size at 1 and 5/8". Next, ask about the weight of the material per cubic foot. Polyurethane is 2-4 pounds per cubic foot. Theirs is 100-120 pounds per cubic foot—remember, weight is what caused your problem in the first place! What about the drivability? With Polyurethane, you can walk on your concrete immediately and drive on it in one hour. With mud pumping, it will be overnight if you’re lucky, if not 24 hours, depending on material used and amount needed.
